As part of our Professional Development Series, join WLSA for a lunch discussion on effective communication for women in the legal field. The discussion will focus on the ways in which communication is gendered and how female-identifying professionals can tackle barriers and prejudicial perceptions of their communication styles. Panelists include Ellen Hemphill, a professor in Duke's Department of Theater Studies and a creative communications consultant; Honorable Judge Wanda Bryant of the North Carolina Court of Appeals; Catharine Arrowood, a litigation partner at Parker Poe; and Professor Marilyn Forbes, who teaches negotiation, legal interviewing & counseling, and pre-trial litigation. Moderated by Professor Frances Mock, who teaches negotiation and has taught Corporate Counseling and Communication. Lunch will be served.
