Sign in to get your orientation group assignment, and meet with your orientation leaders and fellow classmates over a light breakfast.

- Engage Intellectually I: Dual Degree Information Session

Join Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Jason Belk and Assistant Dean for Academic Advising Anne Sherman to discuss your dual degree requirements.
- Lead Effectively: Self-assessment

Assistant Dean Belk will guide you on this lively and interactive exploration of your leadership style.
- Picnic Lunch
12 p.m. · Beber Sculpture Garden
Enjoy a casual lunch as you get to know your fellow summer starters and orientation leaders in the Beber Sculpture Garden.
- Campus Tour or Computer Training
1 p.m. · Room 3043
Groups 1 and 2 will leave from the 3rd floor loggia for your campus tours. You will have a chance to buy books, visit the DukeCard office, and purchase your parking permits. Please bring an ID and credit card or checkbook. Groups 3 and 4, meet in Room 3043 with your laptops to install and configure software you will need at Duke Law with the help of Academic Technologies staff.

- Embody Integrity: The Honor Code

As a practicing lawyer, your conduct will be regulated by a state bar and its code of professional conduct. The Law School Honor Code will be your first introduction to these expectations and will guide your conduct for the next three years. Assistant Dean Belk and Assistant Dean Sherman take you on a multi-media exploration of this topic.
- Engage Intellectually II: How to Read & Brief a Case

A written judicial opinion, or a "case," is one of the most basic building blocks of U.S. law. Clinical Professor and Director of Legal Writing Diane Dimond will talk to you about how to read and understand a case, one of the first skills you will need to navigate the next three years and beyond.

Explore your new city with Duke Law faculty and staff on one of these optional field trips.

Join your classmates to cheer on the all-American team made famous in the movie "Bull Durham." Tickets are $15 and include all-you-can-eat burgers, hot dogs, salads, and lemonade.
