Hello everyone!
Once again, you are invited to this Tuesday’s FREE social ballroom dance lessons, sponsored by the Law School!
WHEN: This Tuesday (Sept 1st) evening at 8:20
WHERE: East Campus SOUTHGATE Gym
DIRECTIONS:
From Duke Law School, take Towerview Rd. west until it intersects Erwin Rd.  Turn right on Erwin and follow it until you pass under a bridge (Rt 147 bridge; about 1 mile).  As soon as you pass under the bridge, turn right onto Main Street.  Go through the first traffic light (Broad Street) and turn left about 200 feet after that into a large semicircular driveway.  This driveway leads to Southgate Residence hall on East Campus.  Park in the parking lot on the side of the building, and enter through the rear of the building.
NOTE: Southgate gym is NOT the main gym on East Campus.  If you get lost, ask for directions to Southgate Residence Hall.
**NOTE**: This is the LAST MESSAGE that will be sent to all students.  To keep informed of club events, including times/places for our free lessons, you must subscribe to our email list: send message to “maiser@student.law.duke.edu” with the message “subscribe ballroom” in the body.
All are welcome.  Hope you can join us,
Jonathan Darrow

Hello again everyone!

The Duke Law Ballroom Dance Club invites all law students and their guests to join us in learning how to ballroom dance.  NO PARTNER and NO EXPERIENCE (and no committment) needed.  Cost?  Thanks to the Duke Bar Association, these lessons are still FREE!! (Typical private lessons are $65/ hour).
Lessons are fun and will be less formal than last year, with more time to practice what you’ve learned.  At the end of each session, an informal dance will be held.  Learn to Waltz, Tango, Rhumba, Swing, Cha-Cha, and more.  So come and meet your fellow law students while learning how to dance!
THE FIRST LESSON: Swing and Waltz, next Tuesday, September 1st at 8:20 in East Campus Southgate Gym (NOT the main gym on East).  Directions will be sent in a separate email.
EMAIL LIST: To be notified of lesson times/places, send a message to
“maiser@student.law.duke.edu”   In the body of the message, write “subscribe
ballroom”
Hope you can join us,
Jon Darrow, President

RESEARCH  TRIANGLE
ARGENTINE  TANGO  DANCE  COTERIE

If you find yourself wondering what you will do to learn over the Summer, consider ARGENTINE TANGO.

Over the past month we have had a lot of excitement with the visit of Suzanna Tambutti form Argentina who taught an eight hour Argentine tango in Greensboro and two beginner workshops in the Research Triangle.
Here are some planned events for Argentine tango for the Spring and Summer. Other activities are being organized. In early June we are planning a party at a large restaurant in Raleigh, hopefully with a live band. We are inviting a nationally known Argentine tango dance instructor to come to the Research Triangle area to present a weekend workshop in the Fall.

Look over these scheduled activities. We hope to see you there.

If you want to be on a contact list for Argentine tango events, please indicate how would you like to be reached: E-mail/phone/Fax/mail?

The Research Triangle Argentine Tango Dance Coterie is a group of volunteers established to provide a local web of communication for those of us interested in learning and encouraging others to join in learning Argentine tango.
Anyone interested in beginning, adding to or sustaining their Argentine Tango dance skills may join. Anyone may organize an event. You may include as many or as few participants in your events as you wish. The purpose of the Coterie is to expand dance opportunities, not to constrain in any way or to replace the function of any other organization.
If you do not have easy access to e-mail and would like for notice of your event to be sent to members by e-mail, call Gary Peterson (gpeterson@pol.net) at 929-7769. I will be happy to distribute the information. We have a telephone tree for members who do not have e-mail.
