Bureau International des Sociétés Gérant les Droits d'Enregistrement et de Reproduction Mécanique (BIEM)
BIEM is an international organization grouping together national mechanical rights societies in order to assure effective administration of those rights. Currently, BIEM has 32 member societies in 30 countries.  BIEM's site offers links to its member societies.

Confédération Internationale des Sociétés d'Auteurs et Compositeurs (CISAC)
CISAC is a non-governmental organization of 161 members representing creators of musical, dramatic, literary, audio-visual works and of works of visual art in 87 countries.  Site links to performing rights societies across the globe.

European Copyright User Platform Copyright Focal Point
"One stop shop" on European copyright developments. Site supported by and links to European Bureau of Library, Information and Documentation Associations (EBLIDA).  A non-governmental association of national library, information, documentation and archive associations and institutions, EBLIDA focuses on copyright, Central and Eastern Europe, information technology and its impact on culture.

International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI)
IFPI represents the international recording industry on the behalf of its membership of 1400 record producers and distributors in 76 countries. IFPI has national groups in 46 countries. Among IFPI's priorities are fighting music piracy, and promoting fair market access and the development and enforcement of adequate copyright laws.  IFPI's site links to its national groups as well as to a number of its members.  Additionally, the site links to resources regarding the recording industry's antipiracy efforts.

Société des auteurs compositeurs et éditeurs de musique (SACEM)
SACEM, the first music authors organization in the world, is active in both BIEM and CISAC.  Recognizing that authors' rights are linked with the development of the European Union, SACEM created and oversees Groupement Européen des Sociétés d'Auteurs et Compositeurs (GESAC).  GESAC fights to harmonize rights throughout Europe and improve the protection of works.

World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
WIPO, a specialized United Nations agency, promotes the international protection of intellectual property and administers the various multilateral treaties dealing with the legal and administrative aspects of intellectual property. The site contains full text versions of the major international treaties such as the Berne Convention and the WIPO Treaties.  WIPO also links to the various national offices overseeing intellectual property rights.

World Trade Organization (WTO)
WTO site provides background history on and full text of the various WTO agreements, including the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS Agreement).  Site links to various international and trade organizations.
