Gifts to Duke Law School soared in fiscal year 2000-2001
Despite a bearish stock market and uneasy economic climate, fiscal year 2000-2001 turned out to be one of the Law School's best fundraising years on record. Alumni and friends paid $7.7
million in gifts to the Law School, up 61 percent from the prior year. That's even more impressive when one considers that the total includes a single $1 million gift. "This illustrates the
strong momentum created by the Campaign for Duke Law School," said Anita Brown, Senior Director of Development. The Annual Fund had its best year ever, with total gifts of $1.35 million.
More than 78 percent of that total is made up of Barrister level gifts of between $1,000 and $2,499. Gifts in that range have grown steadily over the past few years. Thanks to all who
helped make last year a strong one.
