Duke Law School Participates In Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration January 20-25

Duke Law School is working closely with other members of the Duke University campus to coordinate the school's Thirteenth Annual Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration. The theme of this year's festivities, which commence January 20th and run throughout the following week, is Ties That Bind: Duke, Durham and Martin Luther King Jr.'s Legacy of Hope. Planned events include panel discussions, a documentary video, cultural presentations and speeches by "Boondocks" cartoonist Aaron McGruder and Myrlie Evans-Williams, former chair of the NAACP and widow of late civil rights activist Medgar Evers.

Duke Law School Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Jill Miller has participated actively on the planning committee for MLK Week, and Associate Dean for Admissions and Financial Aid Dennis Shields will speak at a candlelight vigil on Friday, January 25th at Noon in Duke Chapel.
