Students to get lessons on leadership even before classes begin "Pursuing Professionalism: A Community in Motion," is the theme for this year’s orientation, which begins at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, with convocation. The Duke Law community will include aspects of leadership and professionalism --- ethics, integrity, civility, problem-solving and service – in its welcome to the Class of ’04. Orientation continues through Wednesday, Aug. 22, with new activities – a problem-solving exercise, small-group discussions of ethically ambiguous cases, an interactive scavenger hunt instead of a campus tour, and a movie night with local alumni. Orientation leaders from the classes of ’02 and ’03 will be on hand to help, and will continue guiding 1Ls through their first semester at the Law School. |
