Several factors influence the level of collection development intensity including but not limited to the following:
- Topic taught in the curriculum
- Seminars
- Faculty research interest
- Student research interest
- Student edited law school journal
- Interdisciplinary and campus wide needs
- Law School Centers and Programs
- Local attorneys and pro se patrons
- Trendy "hot topics" in the law
