Duke Environmental Law & Policy Forum

About the Journal

The Duke Environmental Law & Policy Forum began in 1991 as an interdisciplinary magazine published annually. Since then, the Forum has grown into an environmental law journal, taking on a format normal to legal scholarship. DELPF has retained its interdisciplinary roots and presents scholarship that examines environmental issues by drawing on legal, scientific, economic, and public policy resources. DELPF’s affiliations with the Nicholas School for the Environment and Earth Sciences, the Terry Sanford Institute for Public Policy, and the Law School render it uniquely positioned to adapt to the increasingly interdisciplinary nature of environmental law.

DELPF is student-run publication. In the Spring of 2004, DELPF added non-law students from the Nicolas School in an effort to further the richness of the Journal’s publications. New journal members, both JD and non-JD, are selected based upon their writing skills, research ability, and interest in both DELPF and environmental policy.

Recently, DELPF has committed itself to bringing top practitioners, academics, and policy makers together in an annual symposium, which is held at the Duke Law School each fall. Among recent panelists include Assistant Secretary for the Interior Lynn Scarlett and Commissioner Suedeen Kelly of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

DELPF welcomes unsolicited submissions via email. Submissions and any questions regarding DELPF’s publication process can be directed to delpf@law.duke.edu. Questions regarding subscription information should be directed to Kelly Smith at ksmith@law.duke.edu.
