Submission Process
The Alaska Law Review is a scholarly and professional journal that responds to the needs of Alaska's diverse legal community. It contains articles and notes on a wide range of legal areas, including natural resources law, environmental law, land use planning, economic development, state-federal relations, and Native American rights.
The Review welcomes manuscript submissions concerning legal topics specifically relevant to Alaska. This does not mean, however, that we are interested only in state law issues; the Review also seeks articles concerned with federal issues of special importance to Alaska.
The Executive Board, consisting of the Editor-in-Chief, Executive Editors and Articles Editors, votes on whether to accept the submissions for publication. In deciding whether to publish, a piece may be accepted outright or on the condition that the author make certain revisions. The editorial process begins 6-8 months prior to publication of the targeted issue.
Twenty-five reprints of each article and one copy of the Review in which the author's article appears will be mailed to the author without charge. Additional copies, ordered when an author receives page proofs, may be purchased at the printer's per page cost.
Please feel free to call the Alaska Law Review office at (919) 613-7105 should you have any questions. We are happy to assist you.
