International Food Fiesta and Wine/Beer Tasting
Wednesday October 28, 2009 starting at 6 pm
Admission is $5 for food, wine, and beer tastings but FREE for those who submit dishes! All proceeds go to World Relief.
Judging begins at 5:30 pm; Fiesta Fun begins at 6 pm!
Rules and Guidelines
- Participants submit one (or more) dishes to one (or more) categories. For each category you submit, you must provide two food samples for the judges.
- Dish submissions should serve 10-12 people (plus two portions for the judges).
- A team of participants may submit a dish; however, each team should still follow the one cook to 10-12 eaters rule. For example, if three people plan to submit one dish, the dish should feed approximately 30 people.
- Participants can arrive and set up as early as 4:30 pm. Entries must be ready for judging by 5:30 pm.
- Tables are provided for participants to use to prepare and display their dishes.
- You may bring a crock pot, warmer, etc. to heat or prepare your dish at your table. Electrical outlets are available but please bring your own extension cord.
- Plates, tableware, and napkins will be provided. Please bring your own serving utensils/platters, etc.
- Winners will be announced at the event.
- Due to H1N1 and other seasonal illness, please pay particular attention to sanitary food preparation and the following guidelines regarding food service:
- One participant must remain with his or her dish and serve food to Fiesta attendees until the Fiesta ends or the dish is gone; Fiesta attendees may not serve themselves
- Participant-servers must wear serving gloves (provided by OSA)
- Participant-servers must wash their hands prior to food service and use hand sanitizer (provided by OSA) or wash hands prior to resuming food service
- Fiesta attendees must use disposable utensils (provided by OSA)
- Fiesta attendees are encouraged to use hand sanitizer at each station
