Akio Shimizu
Visiting Professor
Professor Shimizu is a Professor of Law at Waseda Law School in Tokyo, Japan. He joined the School of Law at Waseda in April, 1994. He teaches public international law and international economic law, and has served on several dispute settlement panels at the World Trade Organization.
Prior to joining Waseda Professor Shimizu was on the faculty at Otaru University of Commerce, Hokkaido, Japan, from 1981-1994. He joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor in 1981; then served as Associate Professor and was made Professor in 1992.
Professor Shimizu received his LLM degree from Waseda University School of Law in 1977, and in 1980 completed the LLM program at Yale Law School.
