Ms. Ross currently is consulting with the Kenan Ethics Institute on a new project entitled "Ethics at Work." For over seven years, she held the position of Executive/Legal Director for the American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina, in Raleigh. Her responsibilities included management of all programs and finances, litigation and negotiation of cases, lobbying, public education and speaking, fund raising, policy development, and board development. Prior to that, she was an associate with the firm of Hunton & Williams, also in Raleigh, where her principal areas of practice included public finance, corporate and securities law, and non-profit organizations. At Hunton & Williams, she researched and drafted memoranda, briefs, corporate and municipal bond documents, and managed bond closings.
She holds membership in the North Carolina Bar Association, with section memberships in Constitutional Rights and Responsibilities and Juvenile Justice. She served on the North Carolina Legislature’s Election Laws Study Commission. She is a member of the Women’s Forum of North Carolina and the North Carolina Editorial Forum. Ms. Ross served as a mentor for Wake County Youth Enrichment Services.
