Donna Nixon
Head of Reference Services
Donna Nixon is the Head of Reference Services in the Duke Law Library, and a Lecturing Fellow. Ms. Nixon received her law degree from Stanford Law School and her M.S.L.S. degree from the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduating law school, Ms. Nixon practiced law in the licensing division of Pillsbury, Madison, Sutro. Prior to joining Duke, Ms. Nixon was a reference
librarian at UNC Chapel Hill, and taught advanced legal research.
Ms. Nixon teaches legal research in the first year legal research and writing course and conducts research workshops. Her research interests include intellectual property, and gender and family law. Ms. Nixon’s professional activities include membership in the Southeastern Chapter of the American Association of Law Libraries and in the American Association of Law Libraries. Her publications include Copyright and Interlibrary Loan Rights , 55 Journal of Interlibrary Loan, Document Delivery & Information Supply 55 (2003).
