Elizabeth F. Kuniholm

Senior Lecturing Fellow

Elizabeth F. Kuniholm is a Senior Lecturer in Law and has taught Trial Practice at Duke Law School since 1987. She is a trial lawyer, practicing in Raleigh at the Kuniholm Law Firm, concentrating her statewide civil practice in the areas of professional negligence and personal injury, including HMO liability. She is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference, is a past president of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, and past chair of the Litigation Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Private Adjudication Center and has served on the Medical Malpractice Study Committee and the Birth-Related Neurological Study Commission at the North Carolina Legislature.

Ms. Kuniholm received her A.B. (History), M.A. (Public Policy), and J.D. degrees from Duke University, and clerked for the Honorable J. Dickson Phillips, Jr. on the Fourth Circuit. After clerking, she practiced at Tharrington, Smith and Hargrove in Raleigh before opening the Kuniholm Law Firm in 1991.
