Allison G. Kort
Senior Lecturing Fellow
Ms. Kort received her J. D. in 1999 from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas, and her B.A. in 1995, with honors, from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
After earning her juris doctorate, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judith M. Barzilay on the United States Court of International Trade in New York. She then practiced white collar criminal defense in New York with the law firm of Holland & Knight LLP for three years, and spent a year practicing plaintiffs' securities class action law at Entwistle & Cappucci LLP, also in New York. Ms. Kort began teaching at Duke in 2005.
Ms. Kort holds bar memberships in New York, California, and North Carolina. She is an avid marathon runner, a kickboxing and indoor cycling instructor, and speaks fluent Hebrew.
