Lauren M. Collins

Head of Reference Services and Senior Lecturing Fellow

 Lauren M. Collins joined the Duke Law Library in March 2007. She received a Master of Science in Information from the University of Michigan in 2003, her J.D. from the University of North Carolina in 1994 and a B.A. in communications from Howard University in 1991. After graduating from law school, Ms. Collins practiced employment law in North Carolina and Michigan and provided anti-harassment training to union employees for a national law firm. Prior to joining Duke, Ms. Collins was a reference librarian at both the University of Miami and Wayne State University in Detroit.

Ms. Collins coordinates the research portion of Legal Analysis, Research and Writing and co-teaches a section of that course. She is active in the American Association of Law Libraries, having served on national committees and as an officer at the local and national levels. Her work includes articles in AALL Spectrum and the North Carolina State Bar Journal as well CALI Lessons on legal research topics.
