Giacinto della Cananea
Visiting Professor
Giacinto della Cananea, born in Rome in 1965, is full professor of administrative law at the Faculty of political sciences, University of Naples “Federico II”.
He holds a law degree, with full marks, of the Law School of Rome “La Sapienza” (1989) and a P.h.D. in European Law, with special mention of the examining committee, of the European University Institute of Florence (1994).
His previous academic positions include: a chair of European law in the Law School of the university of Lecce (1997-98), two years as Associate professor of Administrative law in the Faculty of political sciences, University of Urbino (1999-2000), and four years as full professor in the same Faculty, where he was director of the Law Department of the same Faculty from May 2003 to January 2005.
His research activities include the Jemolo Fellowship at Nuffield College, Oxford (1994) and other periods as visiting professor in Oxford (Istitute of international and comparative law: 1996) and Berlin (1998). He has taught EU law in the Faculty of law of the University of Frankfurt-am-Main (1999) and in the Universit Belgrano of Buenos Aires (2001). He has also given a series of seminars in Law Faculty of the University of Paris — Sud (2004).
His work regards mainly administrative law and European law, including a recent book, L’Unione europea. Un ordinamento composito, Roma, Laterza, 2003 and two edited books, European regulatory agencies, Paris, Isupe, 2004 and Diritto amministrativo europeo, Milano, Giuffr, 2006. His other works include two monographs (Gli atti amministrativi generali, Padua, Cedam, 2000; Indirizzo e controllo della finanza pubblica, Bologna, Il Mulino, 1996) and other studies
