Shawn Massey News Conference

May 27, 2010 • 1:00 PM • Law School 4047

At 1 p.m. Shawn Massey will for the first time address the media about his incarceration and release, along with Wrongful Convictions Clinic co-directors James Coleman and Theresa Newman. On May 6, Massey was released from a North Carolina prison after 12 years of incarceration for crimes he didn't commit. Faculty and students in the Wrongful Convictions Clinic and Innocence Project worked for more than four years to build their argument that Massey was a victim of erroneous eyewitness identification. This event will be webcast live at http://www.law.duke.edu/news/. Press credentials required. For more information contact Frances Presma at presma@law.duke.edu or (919) 613-7248.
