Interdisciplinary Seminar: "Getting it Right: An Interdisciplinary Assessment of Decisionmaking in the Criminal Justice System"

February 18, 2010 • 4:00 PM • Law School 4055

This is an invitation-only event. Duke Law School's Center for Criminal Justice and Professional Responsibility, the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences, and the Social Science Research Institute at Duke University are co-hosting an interdisciplinary seminar, which will bring together legal experts and scholars across the disciplines of neuroscience, medicine, sociology, economics, anthropology, history and psychology, to examine decision-making in the criminal justice system - from police and prosecutors, to lawyers, judges and juries. The seminar is intended as a fact-gathering session for a larger interdisciplinary project - "Science and the Search for Truth: Use of Scientific Knowledge to Detect and Prevent Miscarriages of Justice in the Investigation and Trial of Criminal Cases."
