Room 3043For training in using the classroom technology installations and other equipment or media services, please contact Wayne Miller, director of Educational Technologies (613-7243, Room 3047A in the Library). You may also wish to fill out our online request form.

Instructional Technology in the Classrooms

A full range of audio, video, and computer equipment is installed in the large level-three classrooms (3037, 3041, and 3043), the four medium-sized classrooms on level 4 (4042, 4045, 4047 and 4058) and in our main seminar rooms (4040, 4044 and 4046). The classroom installations each include teaching consoles with touchpad controls and allow instructors to use and project audio and video tapes, show cable TV programs, and access computer applications from diskette, CD-ROM, the Internet, or the law school network. The touchpads also allow instructors to control lighting, shades and viewing screens directly. Seminar rooms 4044 and 4046 use Smart Board Technology.

User Guides for using the classroom equipment are posted in each of the rooms. Individual copies are available upon request. Click here for a detailed list of the capabilities of each room.

Please note: our standard instructional technology is not installed in room 4000. Laptops, portable video monitors, DVD or video cassette players, and projection equipment can be ordered from Educational Technologies for use in these rooms.

The law school also has a portable videoconferencing unit, which can be used for Internet-based videoconferencing in other rooms. If you wish to learn more about how to make use of videoconferencing in your courses, please contact Educational Technologies for consultation. To schedule videoconferencing sessions, you should make an appointment to discuss the event with the director of educational technologies as far in advance of the preferred date as possible, and at least two weeks before you wish to have a session.
