Insurance Law
Insurance Law will explore the nature of insurance and the international insurance market, including the economic, legal and practical implications of risk shifting in the United States, contemporary issues such as terrorism, natural disasters, access to health care and financial failures, and the use of standardized industry contracts and interpretive rules. Students will examine and become comfortable with strategic and legal issues concerning different kinds of insurance, i.e.., life, first-party property and third-party liability. There will be an emphasis on the practitioner's perspective and real world problems.
Please note that course organization and content may vary substantially from semester to semester and descriptions are not necessarily professor specific. Please contact the instructor directly if you have particular course-related questions.
