Faculty-Student Collaboration
Duke Law faculty are deeply committed to teaching and to working collaboratively with students. In addition to research assistantships, which many students undertake for faculty, Duke Law students also are able to pursue their own research interests with the assistance of and mentoring from faculty. Capstone projects allow students to propose projects that combine research and practice and work under the supervision of faculty and practitioners. Clinical students work closely with faculty in representing clients and managing cases. Through the student scholarship series, students develop scholarly articles for publication with the benefit of feedback and guidance from classmates and faculty. Other students have co-authored articles, amicus briefs, and even books with faculty.
