If you do not use Microsoft Outlook, then we recommend you remove it from your computer before installing the GroupWise client. If, however, you are already using Outlook, then you can install both on your computer. After completing the GroupWise client installation, you will need to modify your Outlook settings.
Modifying Outlook to Run with GroupWise on the same computer
After you complete the GroupWise installation, you need to set Outlook to prompt you for the profile to use each time you start Outlook.
- Select Start | Control Panel.
- Open the Mail or Mail and Fax applet. If "Mail" does not appear, select "Switch to Classic View" from the left pane of the window.
- Select Show Profiles.
- In the listing of profiles select "Novell Default Settings."
- Under "When Starting Microsoft Outlook," select "Prompt for a profile to be used."
- Select OK.
- Each time you start Outlook, select Outlook for the profile.
Using Outlook 2003 as a GroupWise Client
You can use Outlook 2003 as a GroupWise client by installing the Outlook Connector for GroupWise, available on the Computing Services software download page. You can then use Outlook to check your GroupWise mailbox. Follow the instructions above to determine whether Outlook will open your GroupWise mailbox or your existing Outlook mailbox.
