Having majored in criminal psychology at Purdue University before coming to Duke, Kendra Montgomery-Blinn always knew her interest lay in criminal law. She signed on as an Innocence Project volunteer in her first week of law school, taking on the investigation of a case that she carried throughout her three years at Duke. David Pishko '77, a partner at Elliot Pishko Morgan in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is working pro bono with Professors James Coleman and Theresa Newman and Fellow Kimberly Kisabeth on one of the Center's cases — the 1997 conviction of Kalvin Michael Smith for a brutal assault of a store clerk. » More
