BLUEPRINT CAREER ORIENTATION SESSIONS September - October

The Career Center and Student Affairs invite 1L LEAD week orientation groups to join us for an informal discussion about the most important first steps to take as you embark on your legal education and career. We will share advice and insight regarding mentor programs, career planning, and life at Duke in general.

Thursday, October 26, 2007 - Alumnus Chris Kay, former COO of Toys R Us, will give the “Kickoff Keynote.” Join Chris for an inspirational story and take away concrete tips on making deliberate choices about your life and career.

Tuesday, October 31, 2007 - Today we recognize the Duke Law students who worked last summer in the non-profit and governmental sectors. Ask 2Ls and 3Ls how and when they secured their summer job, what they did, and how they financed it.

Tuesday, November 7, 2007 - Camesha McAllister, Director of Recruiting, will teach you how to use "Symplicity" (our on-line recruiting database and job bank) to make searching for your 1L job a little easier. *Symplicity will be used throughout the year and this is the ONLY tutorial.
