Job Fairs
The Law School facilitates student participation in many different job fairs throughout the year to give students opportunities to engage with a variety of employers. More information is available in the Career Center.
- 3/09 - North Carolina Eastern & Western Job Fairs. Hosted by all NC Law Schools. Takes place in Cary or Charlotte, NC in March. Employers with 1-35 attorneys conduct interviews of students interested in the NC region.
- 3/12/09 - Applications due for the Loyola Patent Law Interview Program. Student registration has ended for 2009. A two-day interview program held in Chicago each summer that brings together patent law employers and law students from across the country to interview for summer associate positions and post-graduate employment. Job Fair will be held on July 30 and 31, 2009 at the Embassy Suites Chicago - Downtown/Lakefront, 511 N. Columbus Drive.
- 04/1/09 - Student registration now open for the 2009 Cook County Bar Association Minority Law Student Job Fair. This fair will take place in Chicago, IL on Friday, August 21, 2009 at the Embassy Suites Chicago-Downtown/Lakefront. CCBA is designed to assist rising 2Ls obtain positions for their second summer in law school. A limited number of employers wish to interview 3Ls (current 2Ls) for entry level positions in 2010. **Please note that this registration process is a multi-step process. - 04/13/09 - Student registration deadline for the DuPont Legal Minority Job Fair. The fair will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009. DuPont Legal organized its first Minority Job Fair in 1994, to assist our Primary Law Firms (PLFs) with their minority recruitment efforts. Today, it's a successful multi-city event, bringing in more than 500 resumes from minority law students around the country who interview with DuPont PLFs. Students have the option of choosing from one of three job fair sites: Houston, TX, Los Angeles, CA, and Wilmington, DE. - 4/20/09 - Applications due for the Bay Area Diversity Career Fair. The welcome reception will be held on August 7, 2009 at the Orrick Building and interviews will take place on August 8, 2009 at the Hilton San Francisco Financial District. See website for more information.
- 4/21/09 - Applications due for the Delaware Minority Job Fair for 2Ls and 3Ls. The fair will be held on the Wilmington, DE campus of Widener University on August 15, 2009. Please contact Amanda D. Horan, Recruiting Coordinator at ahoran@morrisjames.com for more details and the application.
- 4/26/09 - Student Pre-registration deadline for the The Southeastern Minority Job Fair (SEMJF). The fair will be held on Friday, July 31 & Saturday, August 1, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency Suites Atlanta Northwest in Marietta, Georgia. Pre-registration is now open until August 26, 2009 at https://law-duke-csm.symplicity.com/students. All bidding and application materials will be conducted via the SEMJF Symplicity site in May. - 05/01/09 - Student registration deadline for the St. Louis Diversity Job Fair. This fair will be held on August 14-15, 2009, in downtown St. Louis. Employers will interview students from the Classes of 2010 and 2011. - 5/15/09 - Applications due for the23rd annual Northwest Minority Job Fair. The event will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the office of K&L Gates, located at 925 4th Avenue, Suite 2900, in Seattle, Washington. http://www.nwmjf.org
- 6/20/09 - Applications due for the Heartland Diversity Legal Job Fair. The fair will be held at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center in Kansas City, Missouri. To register for the event, please go to the Heartland Symplicity website https://law-kcmba-csm.symplicity.com/students and input your information. After submitting your request, an ID and password will be assigned to you so that you may access our web database and upload registration information needed for employers (i.e., cover letter, resume, transcript and writing sample). - 7/8/09 - Applications due for the Boston Lawyers Group Job Fair. It will be held at the InterContinental Hotel in Boston, MA on Thursday, August 13, 2009 and at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. beginning on Thursday, August 20, 2009. 2L & 3L law students of color must register at https://law-blg-csm.symplicity.com/students.
- 7/15/09 – Applications due for the Vault/MCCA Legal Diversity Career Fair. The fair will be held at the Marriott Marquis in New York, NY on Friday, August 7, 2009. For more information and to register for the event, please visit www.vault.com/legaldiversity.
- 7/8/09 - Applications due for the ABA Law Student Division Career Fair. The fair will be held at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York, New York beginning August 7, 2009. Law students who wish to participate in the Career Fair must register for the ABA Annual Meeting. There is no need to register separately for the Career Fair. - 8/17/09 - Applications due for the HNBA Latino Job Fair. The Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) will be holding the fair on Friday, September 4, 2009 at its 2009 Annual Convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Interviews will take place at the Hotel Albuquerque and will be scheduled in 30-minute intervals from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Pre-Registration and Full-Registration is now available at www.hnba.com. - 8/28 & 8/29/09 - Tri-State Diversity Recruiting Program. The program, comprising of the states of Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio, will be held August 28-29, 2009 at Embassy Suites Hotel, 10 East Rivercenter Blvd., Covington, KY 41011. - 10/24 & 10/25/09 - Equal Justice Works Career Fair. The 2009 Conference and Career Fair will be hosted in Washington, DC on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 24 and 25. (Information forthcoming in fall 2009).
- 9/10/09 - Lavender Law (LGBT Job Fair). The Fair will be held at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge in Brooklyn, New York.
