The Interviewing Process
Almost all legal employers will require one or more interviews, either in person or over the phone, before offering you a position. As a result, the interviewing stage is critical to the hiring process. While some students may feel more self-conscious about interviewing than others, all students can master the art of the interview with proper preparation. Law school interviews will rarely, if ever, have any questions directed toward determining your knowledge of "the law."
Screening interviews, whether at the law school or at an employer's place of business, usually involve a 20 - 30 minute conversation with one or two interviewers. However, at a call-back interview, you will likely meet several attorneys over several hours, including lunch. In either case, the basic interview strategy is the same, and preparation is critical.
