"Well-Being and the Practice of Law" with Prof. Dan Bowling L'80 - Jan. 24, 2012, 6:00 PM
Join us for a reception and discussion with Professor Dan Bowling L'80 at the home of Dara Dehaven T'73, G'74, L'80. Professor Bowling will discuss the particular challenges lawyers face in balancing work, family, and personal well-being. Outside of the academic world, Bowling is chief executive officer of Positive Workplace Solutions, LLC, which specializes in designing human performance programs and strategies for senior executives, and a practicing labor and employment lawyer. He also is an executive coach to lawyers at some of the largest corporations and firms in the U.S. Until 2006, he was senior vice president of Human Resources for Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc, a Fortune 125 company. High Museum Visit and Reception - Nov. 3, 2011
Law alums toured the latest New York City MOMA exhibit From Picasso to Warhol: 14 Modern Masters, enjoyed a presentation by a High Museum of Art representative, and relaxed over drinks and hors d'oeuvres at Table 1280 Restaurant and Tapas Lounge in the Woodruff Arts Center.
Duke Law Atlanta General Counsel Roundtable with Professor Samuel Buell and Dean David F. Levi - Sept. 23, 2010
This roundtable exchange was the first in a series of gatherings among Duke Law graduates who serve as corporate counsel. Professor Buell and Dean Levi facilitated a dialogue about a variety of legal and professional topics of common interest, including how criminal law can be used to target and tame legally evasive corporate conduct.
