  • Elaine Osborne Jacobson Award
    The award was established in 1991 in honor of the late Elaine Osborne Jacobson, wife of Richard S. Jacobson, and an advocate for the health care needs of under-served populations. The award recognizes women law students with an aptitude for and commitment to a career of advocacy for the health care needs of women, children, the elderly, and disabled persons.

  • Leesfield Scholarship
    Sponsored by Ira Leesfield and AAJ, this scholarship has been established to award $2,500 to a law student for attendance at AAJ's Annual Convention. The 2010 Annual Convention will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada July 10-14. This scholarship is available to first and second year AAJ Law Student Members.

  • Richard D. Hailey AAJ Law Student Scholarships
    These scholarships are open to all incoming first, second, and third-year African American, Hispanic, Asian American, Native American and Bi-Racial AAJ Law Student Members.

  • Trial Advocacy Scholarship
    2010 Trial Advocacy Scholarship

    This scholarship is open to all second and third-year AAJ Law Student Members. A $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to the applicant who best:

    1. demonstrates a commitment to AAJ and dedication to its mission through extensive involvement in AAJ student chapter activities;
    2. expresses a desire to represent victims;
    3. exhibits an interest and proficiency of skills in trial advocacy;
    4. shows a financial need for t

  • The Bill and Ann Shepherd Legal Scholarship
    Recipients will be third-year or fourth-year law students who intend to devote at least part of their practice to improving the quality of life for sexual minorities.

    To be eligible for scholarship consideration, a candidate must

    1. be committed to equal rights and justice for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered persons;
    2. be a citizen of the United States;
    3. be a student at an accredited law school;
