What's New?
- A New Homepage
- A new look and feel – confident and bold – with news that reflects the entire community.
- Homepage Customization
- Prospective students, current students, faculty, staff, and alumni will have the opportunity to select a customization option that provides audience-specific news and links.
- Dynamic Content
- Using a "News Manager" application, everyone at the Law School (individuals, organizations, groups, programs, areas) can submit news items to display around the Web with one single entry. Tagging options will allow news and information to be grouped by keywords, such as "faculty scholarship," "student-organized," "international," etc. The goal is to offer more dynamic, frequently changing content for the user.
- Easier News Distribution
- Anyone can submit a news item for homepage consideration or for display on any number of the site's dynamic areas. Student groups, programs, centers, and departments can all submit promos for events, news items, or profiles. The goal is to show off the great work happening around the Law School.
- Highlighting Scholarship
- Faculty profiles, snapshots of faculty research in progress, news on student scholarship -- all will enhance the accessibility to online scholarship currently available.
- Photo Gallery
- We’ve designed an easy way for everyone to upload and present photos on the new Web site. Student organizations, admissions, and conference organizers can now create a photo gallery after events.
- Easier Editing
- In addition to easy management of news and photos, Web site managers will have access to a new editing tool. Edits are made directly on the page through an interface that lets you visually select the area to be updated and make changes via a word processor-like interface.
- RSS Feeds
- All news items will also be available through easy-to-access RSS feeds to help the community and other interested parties stay in touch with what is happening at Duke Law. An RSS feed is a way to "push" the great content contributed to the "news manager" application.
