Each summer the Inter-American Development Bank hires up to 35 summer interns, for a period of two months. The purpose of the Program is to provide an opportunity for university students at the graduate level to learn about the operations of the IDB, and to acquire work experience at the professional level through on-the-job training during their summer vacation before returning to their studies. The United States Olympic Committee seeks a Summer 2003 Law Clerk to assist in a wide variety of projects in support of the Legal and Government Affairs Division. Anyone interested in applying should contact internprog@usoc.org for information and an application. Deadline: Nov. 15.

Federal Defenders, Middle District of Alabama offers summer internships and mid-year internships. The Federal Defenders Program for the Middle District of Alabama provides representation to persons charged with federal crimes and to people on Alabama's death row.

GOVERNMENT

Judge Philip R. Martinez, United States District Court, Western District of Texas in El Paso, is seeking a third-year student for the position of Judicial Clerk beginning August, 2003. This is a two-year term. Deadline: Nov. 29.

The Honorable Andrew S. Effron, United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces in Washington, D.C., anticipates one opening for a summer intern in 2003. Apply ASAP.

The Federal Election Commission- Third-year students are hired as Law Clerks with the expectation that they will become entry-level attorneys with the Office of General Counsel.
